An International Manufacturing Company based in Potchefstroom is looking for a Cost Accountant to join their team.

POST REQUIREMENTS:
• B.Com: Cost and Management Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical skills with regards to an ERP system.
• Ability to apply skills across disciplines and to deal with both internal queries and external parties at all levels of seniority.
• Ability to apply sound judgement, corporate governance and ethical values.
• Good problem solving skills with ability to demonstrate initiative and work independently.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Good administrative, planning and organising skills with attention to detail.
• Fully computer literate (MS Office packages with Excel and word essential).

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Full responsibility for inventory and cost management:
• The review and evaluation of Plant production plans (including hours) as well as evaluation of purchase prices to determine standards tariffs for products (material, labour and overheads).
• Evaluate Bill of Material & Routing Changes to ensure accurate product costing.
• Continuous evaluation of Inventory – quantities and cost as well as need for obsolete stock provision.
• Monthly Financial site reporting regarding cost and production deviations.
• Supply monthly inputs for Inventory reports and inventory prognosis - projected inventory balances, movements and material usage (using ERP system).
• Monthly Inventory reconciliations and journals for Boskop.
• Monitoring all work order deviations as well as closing and re scheduling of works orders.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the assistant cost accountant.
• Provide assistance on the ERP System functionality at Boskop and liaise with other departments (e.g. planning and operations).
• Co-ordinate independent stock counts at Boskop & perform variance reconciliations.
• Provide inputs for use in Quotation process.
• Identify risks and anomalies which relates to Inventory which could have financial implications for RDM.
• Generating requests on product cost and inventory to improve and simplify financial reporting.
• Ad hoc requests for information from various role-players.
