Our client in the Financial Sector seeks an experienced Credit Analyst. The successful person will be based in Edenvale.

What is the role?

To motivate, assess and manage applications according acceptable risk levels within different market segments. To report on credit risk monthly and on objectives. To action termination quote and settlement requests. The Credit Analyst report to the Head: Credit Risk and Projects.
Duties

1. Prepare and assess applications for Customers(Business, SME, Government and Consumers) and Sales Vendors within the Credit Risk Function
a. Assess and motivate application received aligning to the Credit Policy
b. Set clear requirements for additional requirements or conditions of grant
c. Decisions as set out in performance contact
d. Clear recommendations on applications to be referred to credit committee
e. Contribute to the credit committee meeting, document outcome
f. Liaise with other departments in finalizing applications
2. Ensure conditions of grant is met before payment is authorized, quality control function
3. Assess security documents for correctness and acceptance
4. Ensure documents are draft for Sales Vendor agreements and legally binding
5. Ensure compliance with legislation and implement appropriate procedures
6. Process requests for termination quotes and action termination quotes
7. Compile effective and clear reporting to internal and external stakeholders on business performance related to credit risk, daily, weekly and monthly
8. Reconciliation of Supplier Control account on daily basis
9. Enhance and Maintain Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Operating Level Agreements (OLA)
10. Represent Credit as the business resource on credit risk related projects and deliverables

Skills, experience and personal traits needed?

Skills

• Minimum of B Com – (Economics and Risk Management or Economics, Risk Management and Invest Management) or Baccalaureus Technologiae: Credit Management or Bachelor of Banking qualification or Credit related qualification with business experience ( 3 years in related industry)
• Computer literate (Advanced levels in Microsoft)
• Excellent command of the English language, with the ability to compile proficient written communication
