Looking to engage with specialists who have more than 12 years’ lending and credit experience covering commercial, corporate and retail banking. Excellent knowledge of credit analysis, credit policies, procedures and philosophy. The role requires a highly qualified and dynamic individual who will report to the Chief Risk Officer. The successful appointee will be responsible for the undertaking of credit analysis of lending opportunities, providing management oversight and reporting of the Bank’s lending portfolios.



Qualification:

Business or Accounting degree

Professional qualification in Credit Management

Basel 3 regulation experience essential



Skills & Experience:

Good database manipulation and extraction skills

High credibility and strong reputation with regulators in the markets they have operated in

Superb communication skills, both verbal and written

English fluency is a pre-requisite

Highly numerate

Experience influencing a broad range of stakeholders

Flexible, can do attitude suited to an evolving organization

More than 12 years’ lending and credit experience covering commercial, corporate and retail banking

Excellent knowledge of credit analysis, credit policies, procedures and philosophy



Job Description:

Undertaking credit analysis of potential lending opportunities for inclusion in the Bank’s loan portfolios and ensuring that these are approved commensurate with risk appetite, policies and delegated authorities.

Providing credit expertise regarding portfolio composition, expectations and regulatory requirements.

Identifying significant trends and emerging threats to the Bank’s portfolios and, where necessary, recommending mitigating action.

Presenting credit information to executive management, regulators and auditors.

Ensuring that arrears are identified and managed effectively and efficiently seeking solutions to resolve problem loan situations and, where appropriate, restructuring facilities to protect the quality and profitability of the Bank’s portfolios in order to minimize financial loss.

Establishing, implementing, managing and reviewing the credit underwriting and approval process and procedures to protect the credit quality of the Bank’s portfolios.

Maintaining bank-wide operating procedures, guidelines and policies.

Providing training and advice to Bank staff.
