A challenging and exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst (Consultant –Analytics) has just become available in their new Data Science Team.

Main purpose of the job:

Our client is looking for a professional, influential and confident individual, with a compelling commercial mentality and a passion for problem-solving, to serve as a liaison amongst key stakeholders (internal & external) and assume overall responsibility for the delivery & success of various projects – including scoping, project management, implementation, team management & development endeavours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Requirements Gathering - identifying, defining, analysing and documenting client requirements

• Solution Scoping/ Building Business Cases - organising, translating, specifying and modelling client requirements into solutions

• Solution Project Plans - documenting client requirements in Project Plans specifying risk & return; requirements are validated, verified and approved by the client & Key Performance Indicators agreed

• Project Delivery - End-to-end management and delivery of the project plan:

? Data validating and analysis
? Reporting & Testing
? Validating requirements and analysis models via reviews, walk-throughs, user acceptance testing (UAT)
? Risk Management
? Meeting Management

• Stakeholder Management

? Performing a liaison function between clients and the providers of services (internal stakeholders)

• People Management

Qualifications Required:

Essential

• Matric/ Grade 12 Certificate
• Degree in Computer Science or IT

Preferred

• Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA)

Experience Required

• A successful track record of 1-2 years as a Business Analyst (preferably in a client-facing and/or business outsourcing context)
• Sound experience in high-level project management & the development of project plans
• Experience in managing a team of direct reports & leading teams of people
• Experience with Business Analysis Tools:

? modelling tools such as Visio or any other Enterprise Architecture software
? requirements management tools or project management software such as MS Project

• Business analysis skills – able to use a variety of tools & techniques to conduct analysis and deconstruct problems/solutions (e.g. use cases, business process models and decision models)

• Visual modelling skills – able to create visual models/capture information visually (work-flow diagrams, wire-frame prototypes etc.)
