Great International company bosting with loads of great benefits is looking for a Data Scientist to join their team in the Centurion area.

Responsibilities:

• Work on a wide variety of projects using the required data science skills and analytics technologies
• Play an active role in the design, development and unit testing of analytics solutions
• Responding promptly and professionally to business requests
• Design, code, test and document all new or modified systems, applications and programs
• Analyse system specification and translate system requirements to task specifications for developers.
• Research and develop statistical learning models for advanced data analytics
• Collaborate with product owners from various divisions to understand analytics needs and devise possible solutions
• Implement new statistical or predictive methodologies as needed for specific models or analysis
• Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating and deploying solutions that meet user requirements
• Assist in the design of databases and data models to ensure interoperability
• Review to the extent possible changes in code and the environment that will affect system performance
• Build efficient and re-usable services that can be reused across different divisions
• Improved system maintenance, performance and support
• Work with the team to continuously improve the solution development process

Qualifications and Experience:

• Three year qualification in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related Quantitative field
• Seven years’ experience on the following statistical and programming languages SAS, R, Python ,SQL
• Expert knowledge of advanced analytics techniques such as machine learning, statistical and predictive modelling to discover deeper insights, make predictions or generate recommendations
• Knowledge of the Utilities industry (Power plant management, asset maintenance, outage management, customer, sales and revenue management) – This is an advantage, not a deal breaker
