Database Administrator SQL – Randburg – R340k to R360k
 
Our client requires a good Solid DBA with knowledge of Database Design, T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Data Replication, SSRS and SSIS. This is a great opportunity to become part of a dynamic team.

• Ensure business data is kept securely and ensure data availability at all times.
• Work with developers to design and implement SQL Server reports as requested by business users
• Responsible for the uptime of all database applications from a database perspective
• Manage the day-to-day operations of database systems and ensure that the systems and/or applications function effectively
• Make sure that the database systems provide sufficient computing power to deliver the desired level of business performance
• Responsible for the overall security of business data, and ensure only relevant access is granted to relevant users.
• Testing of new software or software versions such as database server upgrades
• Coordinate protocols for operation within multi-user IT networks that provide data transmission
• Establish and control data systems access and security
• Initiate and complete recovery action after system failures when required
• Provide day-to-day advice to developers and users on database standards, data structures and terminology
• Provide training or assistance to developers on database systems use from time to time
• Prepare technical reports on the operation of systems

 
Required qualification     

• IT Degree/ Diploma, Relevant Database Administration Qualification
• 3 years as SQL Server DBA
• Experience with SQL Server 2005/2008/2012, T-SQL
• SQL Server Stored Procedures and Triggers
• SQL Server Data Replication
• SQL Server Reporting Services (including designing Reports)
• Experience in developing SQL Server SSIS
• Experience in SQL Server Performance Tuning & SQL Server Profiler will be beneficial.
