Durban based company urgently seeks a Database Administrator to join their team with a salary offering of R22 000CTC.

· A Database Administrator is a specialist that models, designs and creates the databases and tables used by a software solution.
· The Database Administrator is responsible for the performance, integrity and security of a database.
· The DBA will also be involved in the development of the database, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.
Project and Administration coordination:
· Identifying database requirements by analyzing department applications, programming, operations and evaluating existing systems.
Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data back-up and recovery specifications.
Installs revised or new systems by proposing specifications and flowcharts, recommending optimum access techniques, coordinating and installation requirements.
Provides information by answering questions and requests.
General Administration

Allocating system storage and [ Disabled] future storage requirements for the database system.
Modifying the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developers.
Enrolling users and maintaining system [ Disabled].
Ensuring compliance with database vendor [ Disabled].
Research and Development:
A willingness to keep up to date with developments in new technology.
An understanding of information legislation, such as the Data Protection Act.
