Designer / Estimator – Gauteng
Salary – R30 000 CTC
Requirements:
• Matric (mathematics and engineering graphic design)
• Mitek 20/20 Advanced Course completed successfully
• ITC Basic and Intermediate Course Completed
• Minimum 5 years roofing design experience
• Relevant engineering qualification is an advantage
Functions / responsibilities:
• Internal and External Customer Engagement and Support
• Liaise and engage with customers and sales staff regarding Truss design and quotes when needed or required.
• Liaise and engage with Contractors, Engineers and Architects to resolve design issues and technical feedback requirements.
• Assist on site visits with queries when required from sales teams or customers
• Suggest and advise on alternative options in design, products and material where appropriate to ensure quote competitiveness.
• Sales support
• Optimize and review all designs for cost saving alternatives to ensure you produce the most cost-effective designs and quotations first time.
• Follow up with customers on all quotations completed and assist in closing sales.
• Maintain a conversion rate of quotes to orders in line with targets.
• Ensure professionalism in every interaction with internal staff, Customers and technical support suppliers.
• Truss Estimation and Quotation
• Adhere to the Code of Conduct of the Institute for Timber Construction
• Design roofs as per the building plan and customer requirements, ensuring all designs and quotes are completed as per the customer’s requirements.
• Request a quote from Vendor for sheeted roofs when production pack is prepared
• Design Finalization & Production Pack
• Request site measurement to be conducted immediately when the quotation has been accepted
