Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time / full time Digital Videographer / Editor to join our team in Cape Town. You will play a vital role in establishing our video creation department as an innovative social media content producer.
Your job will be to develop video for conceptual ideas, interviews and quick turn-around social media videos for a variety of clients as well as our own group of companies.
You will need to be passionate about video trends online especially on social media and be extremely interested in emotive storytelling.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Maintain relationships with internal departments such as branding, advertising, sponsorship, digital, internal communications, investor/media relations to ascertain their needs and provide excellent and consistent creative video production and filming services.
• Manage all elements of video production and fulfillment, including managing quality, creative briefing, interviewing, working with talent, camera operation, and service relationships with external agency partners when required.
• Develop in-house video presentation center capabilities to support corporate communications.
• Work with management team and other departments to ensure projects are logged, tracked, and completed on time and on budget.
• Assist in enhancing the visual brand standards, responsible for guiding tone, manner and personality of all brand marketing and communication materials, maintaining consistency with brand guidelines.

Position Requirements:
• Strong experience with video concepting, scheduling, scripting, location scouting, sound, lighting, and design.
• Proficiency in current and emerging video techniques, creative development and production technologies, including editing software packages
• Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong creative portfolio
• Comprehensive experience with motion graphics, creative storytelling, and compositing
• The ability to lead, prioritize, manage time, plan well and organize work to meet conflicting deadlines.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, and a good eye for detail, with a focus on consistency and technical accuracy.
• The ability to work well in a team environment as well as individually to meet tight deadlines, supporting teammates and putting in extra time as necessary (go “above and beyond”).
• Strong experience multitasking, with the initiative and drive to complete projects under stress while maintaining a positive attitude and a collaborative demeanor.
• Possess sound music knowledge

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of 1 years as a videographer
• Related certification
• The Videographer / Editor should have experience and knowledge in the following disciplines: photography, graphics, commercial art, multimedia, videography and editing
• Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. InDesign, Illustrator, Lightworks, Photoshop, Premiere and After Effects)
• Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
• Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity
• Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
• Creative mind and strong storytelling skills
• Knowledge of typography
• Personal experience as a videographer & video editor on own projects
• Design skills would be advantageous
