INTRODUCTION:
A Johannesburg based Company with a national footprint is seeking to employ a highly experienced and dynamic Divisional/Branch Manager to manage and grow the sales division. The business focuses on providing specialized fasteners related products to the automotive and security industries through meticulous customer forecasting methodologies as well as commodity trading. The incumbent would need to have proven sales track record to manage existing customers and develop new customer relationships at an executive level and close deals expeditiously.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The purpose of this position is to develop new business within the Company, to achieve sales targets and maximize sales revenue opportunities through development of and maintenance of relationships and provide management support to the staff of the department. The incumbent would report directly to the Managing Director and would be accountable to achieving/exceeding the targets set out in his/her performance plan.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

  • Accurately forecast revenues on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Establishes the goals and objectives for the branch and providing leadership and management skills to the region on technical, quality, strategy and performance.
  • Responsible for preparation and achievement of the department’s sales budgets, expense management, EBIT targets and inventory levels.
  • Grow revenue of direct business by leading the team in identifying and acquiring new potential clients and business opportunities – defined results.
  • Deliver at least R 150 000.00 worth of contractual new business sales by the 3rd month of appointment.
  • Develop dynamic business presentations and proposals for clients and internal communications
  • Develop and maintain top level contacts within client organizations, industry associations, press, government and other appropriate bodies.
  • Co-ordinate team to develop sales strategies to improve company’s sales performance.
  • Analyze market trends (perform market intelligence on competition) and customer needs to identify new business development opportunities.
  • Have sufficient presence and gravitas to command respect in the internal and external environment.
  • Maintain regular contact with past, existing and new clients to explore new opportunities.
  • Build and establish strong relationship with customers.
  • Continually improve sales productivity by use of sales productivity tools and methodologies
  • Demonstrable ability to motivate sales staff to achieve exceptional performance by coaching, mentoring and other appropriate interventions.
  • Performance management of team against Key Performance Indicators on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Take overall control and ownership of the branch inclusive of the warehousing, purchasing functions and quality control protocols. 


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Completed Bachelor in Commerce Degree (Masters in Business Administration – is desirable)
  • Exceptional standard of communication and presentation skills.
  • Keeps commitments to customers and responds to customers with a sense of urgency.
  • Manage time efficiently in order to achieve daily call rates, targets and deadlines.
  • Adaptability and intellect to grow the business in South Africa and anticipate or overcome challenges
  • Cold calling and lead generation
  • Proven track record in closing high value deals.
  • Understanding contracts and agreements.

SUMMARY

  • Having Import Distribution Experience is a must
  • Knowledge of Capital Management, Inventory Management, Lead Time of Imports, Predicting and Forecasting Future Business(Planning), Minimum Order Quantity, 
  • Extensive Knowledge of GP and Turnover, Performance Management Systems
  • Exposure to the Automotive Manufacturing Process is a must
  • Must have engineering experience (Read Plans) as the ability to speak to Engineers is a prerequisite
