Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be required to process survey information on the relevant system to update mine legal plans and draw various plans and models of the mining and other areas to enable efficient decision making by various stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12
• Advanced Microsoft Office
• Chamber of Mines Survey Draughting Certificate
• 2+ years’ experience in using Microstation and Winminop systems
• Minimum 5 years related experience in a GIS environment
• Valid drivers’ license (EB/08)

Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Transfer and update surveyed data into Microstation
• Update all Legal underground and surface mine plans in compliance with requirements of the MHSA
• Create and maintain digital plans of the entire mine on Microstation. This includes using the Terra-Solid software in creating 3D Models and manipulating this data for volumetric and cross-section analysis
• Updating actual face advances achieved on both mine plans and relevant reports
• Produce ad hoc plans and layouts: e.g. area of responsibility plans, mining layouts and rehabilitation plans for land management as requested by business unit partners (Mining, Environmental, Plant and Legal)
• Compile and assist with the execution of the Mine Business plan reports (Mining Right diagrams, resource and reserve footprint layouts)
• Perform relevant transformations in systems such as Jador for accurate plotting of spatial information on mine planning designs and legal on-mine layouts for both surface and underground infrastructure
• Manipulate and process aerial surveyed data for environmental bill of quantities, Mine section profile and volumetric analysis

Other Skills/Competencies:
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• The ability to work as a team player in a pressurized environment with minimal supervision and focus kept on key objectives to be achieved.
