Job Description
Will be responsible for carrying out all departmental functions including short term mine design and scheduling, project analysis, ore control, reconciliation,cost saving, geotechnical data acquisition, mining engineering systems analysis and design,business planning and preparation of reports.
Management and implementation of control systems ensuring top performance of timing, drilling and blasting.
Maintaining and improvement of safe work practices
Maintaining and managing the blasting and drilling database
Perform power take offs on the blasting, drilling and charging process
Reporting on non-conformance procedures on all drilling and blasting activities (QC/QA)
Blasting performance and timing assessments according to the global tunnel conditions
Development of Drill & Blast designs and strategising which will include the necessary explosives.
Minimum Requirements
5 Years underground mining experience
Relevant Tertiary Qualification –BSc /B.Tech, or B (Eng.) in Engineering (Mining)
Blasting certificate
Knowledge of specialist drilling & blasting design software/programs & long hole drilling procedures
Mine supervisor/ manager Certificate of Competency advantageous
