In working for a well established engineering and manufacturing company, the successful candidate will be reporting to the technical manager. Working with other divisions of company to achieve responsibilities, i.e, Sales, Purchasing, Finances, Warehouse and Production. You will be required to travel to Richards Bay, Johannesburg and Mozambique, where most projects will take place to perform electrical and electronics engineering work.

Job Description

Delivering specialized electrical skills to support company’s products, projects and operations.
Maintaining contact with customers to be aware of technical problems on site
Analyzing technical issues
Planning and implementation improvement measures
Initiating and discussing adjustments or improvements with head office
Writing and/or reviewing Scope of work with client and suppliers
Evaluating practicability of refits and modernisation projects
Estimating and quoting of electrical and automation projects
Designing and/or updating electrical diagrams
Auditing of equipment and processes on site
Understanding and fault-finding using PLC programs on equipment
Assisting with cabling and wiring of sensitive systems
Establishing adherence to company’s design policies and standards for local manufacturing
Supporting production department by confirming availability of drawings, equivalences and specifications
Assisting with quality assurance and quality control to assure standards are followed and non-conformances minimised.

Minimum Requirements

National Diploma / Btech Degree in Electrical Engineering, B. Eng. Tech or Equivalent
Government Certificate of Competency (Factories) advantageous
At least 5 years working experience within electrical engineering field
Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (incl. Excel), AutoCad
Technical understanding of equipment used in aluminium industry beneficial
Basic financial understanding pertaining to budgets, estimations, cost control and reporting
Marketing skills required to identify possible projects and business opportunities
Clear understanding of Principles of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality in workplace.
