(Seeking an EE Candidate)Main Purpose of the Job:Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the incumbent will be responsible to manage the electrical department to ensure that all electrical/mechanical related equipment and machinery is maintained and repaired and operated according to standards. Education, experience and competencies required:
Matric/Grade 12Wireman's license MANDATORY (Please send a copy of your license along with your application)A graduate engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) or an equivalent recognized qualificationTrade testedAt least 2 years post graduate experienceMinimum 10 years’ experience in an electrical environment of which 3 must be at a managerial levelComputer literacyAttention to detailDecision makingLeadershipCost efficiencyGood communication skills(verbal and Written)
Duties and responsibilities include:Strategy Implementation:
Ensure recommendations support the business strategy and budgetEnsure outcomes of strategy achieve overall business objectives and growth strategiesOccupancy levels considered during strategy formulation.Effective human resource, systems and solutions are proposed to support strategy
Plant and System upgrades
Plant and system- upgrades are performed in accordance with project plan-5 year planEnsure upgrades are performed with the least disruption to operations as per SOP’s
Plant/Equipment maintenance
Ensure preventative maintenance is performed when opportunities arisePlant/equipment available as per operational requirements and department standards
Quality Control/Operations
Ensure all departmental standards, processes and legislative prescripts have been adhered to
Technical Support/ troubleshooting
Ensure problems have been resolved within agreed timesResolution is situation specific
Asset Management
Equipment is maintained and available for utilisation
Cost Control
Ensure monthly budget control as per internal standards
Reports
Stakeholders are able to identify all incidents that took place at the event by reading a detailed reportReport deadlines are met as per agreed timelines
People Management
Resourcing as per operational requirementsManagement of performance and employee relationsTraining is aligned to strategic plans, succession plans, talent management
