Job Title: Installation Electrician Wireman

Electrician Job Purpose

Uses a working knowledge of electrical systems to conduct maintenance, fault-finding, and diagnostics on existing systems. Installs new electrical systems, including lighting and heating, to customer standards, specifications and to maintain those systems while upholding safety guidelines and complying with codes and regulations

Must Comply with the following:

-Installation Electrician Wireman’s License ( send Wireman’s License with application )
-SA Identity Document
-Age 25-40
-Must Reside in the Northern Suburbs, Western Cape (or willing to relocate at own expense)
-EE/AA Position
-Willing to work after hours, weekends, Public Holidays and December
-Industrial Experience would be beneficial.
-Required license or certification: Wireman's License
-Required language: English and Afrikaans

Electrician responsibilities

-Diagnose and repair electrical problems in commercial and domestic electrical systems, including fault-finding, rewiring, and monitoring
-Assess the parts needed for a job and place orders for those parts
-Conduct routine maintenance and testing of commercial and domestic electrical systems, and ensure installations are to manufacturer
standards, including in fire alarms and security systems
-Rewire faulty electrical systems, such as lighting, heating systems, and alarms
-Install, maintain, modify and repair electrical all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment
-Remain in compliance with the current National Electric Code
-Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches, and switch gears
-Complete work orders and record material utilized on jobs
-Installation of networking cables, connect and test for adequate operation
-Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturers installation manuals to complete an assigned project
-Survey electrical systems, circuits and plans
-Ensure good quality workmanship which upholds company standards, complies with building codes, and follows safety requirements
-Work alone to find and present faults and concerns in electrical systems without receiving explicit direction
-Provide exceptional customer service and answer any customer questions


Required Minimum Experience

-High school - Matric
-Unencumbered driver's license
-N3 Electrical National Diploma
-MIE Accreditation
-Wireman’s License accreditation
-Qualified electrician asses)
-5 + years’ experience in electrical installations and maintenance on commercial and domestic systems
-Computer literate
-Technical Skills
-Administrative skills
-Planning
-Able to work well in a team
-Capable of lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance
-Excellent hand-eye coordination
-Demonstrable knowledge and skills for electrical installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment
-Strong interpersonal communication skills
