Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Supervise and over-inspect daily activities, offer coaching and on the job training to ensure maintenance according to organisational standards
• Co-ordinate maintenance as well as statutory inspections and audits by internal and external service providers
• Ensure the execution of scheduled and non-scheduled mechanical repairs and installation work as required
• Communicate with clients and supervisors to inform on maintenance activity performance and availability of equipment
• Perform administrative duties to ensure record accuracy and availability, budget compliance, spares availability and HSE compliance.
• Ensure implementation and adherence to the Mine’s Health Safety and Environmental COP’s, policies, procedures and legal requirements within the respective area of responsibility
• Work overtime, standby and be available for call-outs should the need arise

Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF qualification with a minimum of N4 Heavy Current
• Qualified Electrical Trade Test Certificate at recognized/accredited institution
• 5 years’ post- apprenticeship experience as a Shaft Artisan is essential
• 5 years Foreman experience on winders, main dewatering pumps, Main Fans, HT/LT reticulation and compressors – please indicate on CV
• General Electronics course
• Computer Literate in MS Office Suite
• Valid drivers’ license
• Own transport and cell phone

The following will be advantageous (please indicate on your CV and attach relevant certificates):
• Advanced Siemens PLC Course
• VSD & Soft Starter Course as well as experience
• Mini substation course and experience
• Medium Voltage Switching Certificate
• Supervisory Training qualification
• IEC Drawings Course

Other Skills / Competencies:
• Sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English
• Sound planning, leading and organisational abilities
• Good fault finding and diagnostic skills
• Knowledge of Mine Health & Safety Act (Act 29 of 1996)
• Familiar with Mining Process and Maintenance requirements of all related equipment and structures
• Demonstrate the ability to assess work team and to identify training requirements and implement program for development
• Knowledge of PLC’s, and relay systems together with some general instrumentation background
• MV experience
• Must be familiar with 66kV/5.5KV , 5550/380V reticulation and 66kV system i.e. drawings, protection, fault finding, switching
• Working knowledge of large compressors and compressor controls will be an advantage
