About the position:
A specialist installations, electronic maintenance and repair Services Company needs someone who can lead and control progress on all new and current technologies within allocated portfolio and oversee successful completion of related projects within RDD.

Dimensions:
The Repair Workshop consists of the following sections: OPS1 – which is the primary repair workshop where majority of all customer repairs take place. It is also the key area for cross-training of staff and new product evaluation. OPS3 – which is an overflow repair workshop utilised for the occasional repair of certain low volume or seasonal technologies. It is also the key area for contract work performed by per panel payment workers. OPS2 – which is the workshop reserved for future development and the repair of new product still to be identified.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct high level electronic technology research across all products within portfolio, including new products.
• Set up a high quality RDD technical laboratory and improve on a continual basis to meet market demands.
• Producing details of specifications and outline designs of systems.
• Provide high level support to the technicians / project team to meet a pre-set project TAT (Turn-around-Time).
• Systematically improving and changing the detailed designs of a piece or pieces of electronic equipment, making sure that its performance meets a written specification.
• Apply systems analysis and prepare high level technical documentation regarding systems operations and maintenance.
• Enforce a team-work strategy that will support the company’s objectives in meeting the financial targets.
• Provide strong support to internal and external customers with focus on TAT and Quality.
• Provide a high level repair function to ensure operational targets are met.
• Provide assistance to other operational functions within the company by identifying weaknesses in the processes and correcting accordingly.
• Following defined development processes.
• Oversee that all projects under portfolio are completed within the target date, including ad-hoc projects that might be undertaken within your responsibility.

Experience and Qualifications:
• National Diploma Electrical Engineering (Light Current) or relevant experience
• Preferred: BTech. Electrical Engineering (Light Current).
• 10years experience in Telkom Laboratories – compulsory
