Our client based in Cape Town Northern Subs is looking for a qualified, experienced, hard working and motivated engineer to lead and manage our engineering and maintenance department. Previous experience in the steel making industry will be an advantage.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Project management
• Engineering quality control
• Involvement in the operational aspects of the business (be hands-on)
• Overseeing mechanical design and layout work
• Overseeing the production of drawings for manufacturing
• Overseeing routine and planned maintenance
• Liaising with various service providers
• Troubleshooting equipment breakdowns and facilitating repairs
• Ensuring efficiency and highest possible production levels

Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria:
• A relevant degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
• A Government Certificate of Competence [GCC]
• Relevant experience in a manufacturing/ Steel making
• A minimum of 8 years working experience
• Good leadership skills
• Ability to work independently
• We are looking for someone mature – at least in the their late 30’s early 40’s
