JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants who will be responsible to effectively lead and manage the engineering function of the underground mine, ensuring full compliance with all relevant legislation and strategic business plans.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage large multi-disciplinary teams
• Ensure engineering standards and maintenance of Shaft/ Conveyor Belts/ Loco’s and Crushers
• Support business units and liaise with stake holders
• Prepare and manage budgets
• Ensure performance of teams
• Ensure Legal compliance

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Trade Test certificate
• Minimum N4 qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• 8 years’ experience in underground fleet maintenance
• 7 years’ experience as a Foreman
• Valid driver’s license
• Computer Literate

OTHER SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

• Must be able to apply RCA, RCM, ROI and NPV to align OEE with strategic business plan
• Must be performance driven, analytical and a motivator with strong assertive management skills
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize
