A well established manufacturing company in the Midlands area requires an Engineering Stores Manager to join their team.
Requirements:
- Matric.
- Stores / Procurement/Purchasing Diploma or Degree
- At least 5 years of experience in an Engineering Stores
- Code 08 Drivers License is essential.
- Proficient in an electronic Stores Management System.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong Administration.
- Attention to detail.
- Product & technical knowledge in Engineering parts and related items.
- Must be able to effectively manage staff.
Duties:
- Responsible for the overall stores functions, including ordering, receiving and issuing of Stores items.
- Ensure stock levels are optimum in order to meet production deadlines and schedules.
- Implement, maintain and ensure stores processes are adhered to.
- Update and maintain stores records.
- Plan and control stocktakes and cycle counts.
- Maintain and improve housekeeping practices of receiving and stores areas.
- Introduce and continuously improve information systems that support the stores function.
- Ensure all related system transactions are accurate and efficient.
- Daily management and control of all Stores subordinates.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure good working relationships, quality and timely delivery of products
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure preferential terms and prices
- Compile Monthly reports.
- Work within a structured and disciplined management environment.
