A well established manufacturing company in the Midlands area requires an Engineering Stores Manager to join their team.

Requirements:

  • Matric.
  • Stores / Procurement/Purchasing Diploma or Degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in an Engineering Stores
  • Code 08 Drivers License is essential.
  • Proficient in an electronic Stores Management System.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong Administration.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Product & technical knowledge in Engineering parts and related items.
  • Must be able to effectively manage staff.

Duties:

  • Responsible for the overall stores functions, including ordering, receiving and issuing of Stores items.
  • Ensure stock levels are optimum in order to meet production deadlines and schedules.
  • Implement, maintain and ensure stores processes are adhered to. 
  • Update and maintain stores records.
  • Plan and control stocktakes and cycle counts.
  • Maintain and improve housekeeping practices of receiving and stores areas.
  • Introduce and continuously improve information systems that support the stores function.
  • Ensure all related system transactions are accurate and efficient.
  • Daily management and control of all Stores subordinates.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure good working relationships, quality and timely delivery of products
  • Negotiate with external vendors to secure preferential terms and prices
  • Compile Monthly reports.
  • Work within a structured and disciplined management environment.
