Enrolled Nurses x 2 (Fixed-Term Contract)

Main purpose of the job

To collect blood and biological infant samples from participants in the baby growth study.

Location

DPHRU – Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Soweto

Key Performance Areas

Assisting with the collection of biological infant samples.
Collection of survey data.
Collection of blood samples
Make appointments with study participants.
Generate reports.
Liaise with Project Co-ordinator and lead Researcher on aspects of the project.
Assist with ad hoc tasks deemed appropriate.

Required Minimum Education and Training

General Nursing Qualification with Venesection experience.

Professional Body Registration

Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)

Required minimum work experience

2 years Paediatric nursing experience.

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities

Certificate in Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
Good communication (interpersonal and written) and presentations skills.
Ability to work independently, maintain a positive attitude.
Ability to work under pressure and adherence to deadlines
Support and drive the organisation’s core values.
Respond openly to feedback.
Proactive and Adaptable
A strong Paediatric background will be an added advantage
