Koffiefontein Mine JV is based in the town of Koffiefontein, located 100km from Kimberley and 136km from Bloemfontein.

Job Description:

Provide information to enhance sound environmental conditions of the Mine and assist with the implementation of the EMS to ensure legal compliance

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Assist the Environmental Specialist and Officer with all EMS related tasks, including awareness, documents control, site specific training
Provide assistance with the following:
Environmental inspections, audit, incident reporting and aspect register updating
Environmental monitoring and recording as required by the EMP(R) and Mine procedures
Managing the monitoring schedules for the Mine
Capturing of audit findings, decisions, non-conformances, results and required actions on Isometrix
Identify environmental risks and impacts
Implementation of Mine wide waste management activities
Updating of procedures as per requirements of Environmental Practitioner
Investigate and recommend appropriate action on incidents according to procedure
Measure targets for the Sustainability Report
Perform activities defined in the Environmental programme to ensure compliance by the Mine
Perform General and Mini Risk Assessments
Log results of samples on relevant system (Isometrix)

Minimum Requirements:

National Diploma in Environmental Science
2 years Environmental Monitor experience will be an advantage
Computer Literate
Valid Drivers’ License
