Tertiary qualification in Environmental Management or B Tech in Chemical related field
Lead Auditor course will be an advantage
Working knowledge Environmental legislation and requirements will be an advantage
Incident Investigation course will be an advantage
Risk assessment course will be an advantage
Minimum 3 years operational or environmental experience in a chemical manufacturing plant.
To identify and communicate Environmental related problems, hazards and risks to assist with Environmental related corrective actions and mitigation measures on a daily to monthly basis at specific operations working towards legal compliance and behavioural change.

To ensure that all contractors are managed in accordance with the statutory requirements and company procedures to minimize risks on a daily to monthly basis at specific operations.

To ensure that Environmental related meetings are held and outcomes communicated for implementation on a timeous basis at specific operations.

To assist with the identification of Environmental related training requirements and conducting training where needed for all operational staff based on Environmental related operational needs in adherence to statutory requirements.

To provide input into the development of Environmental related processes and procedures and to communicate Environmental related policies, processes and procedures to assist with working towards legal compliance and reduction of Environmental related risk at the specific operations on a daily basis.

To assist with the co-ordination and monitoring the implementation of emergency planning and controls applicable to the specific operations to ensure effective emergency management.

To establish and maintain internal working relationships to facilitate the implementation of Environmental policies, processes and practices.
To assist with the introduction and co-ordination new operational Environmental initiatives aimed at reducing Environmental risk.
