The ideal candidate will have the required technical skills and relevant experience in analysing JSE listed companies. They will be motivated to develop their career in a dynamic environment, where due to the small team, roles are fluid and a willingness to take on responsibility is welcomed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Investment research of a range of JSE listed companies (attending investment meetings, maintaining market knowledge etc.)
• Building financial models on companies to perform analysis and valuation of company shares
• Develop relationships with key industry participants to gain a better understanding of industry dynamics and drivers
• Display initiative and make recommendations based on research conducted Selection and communication of overweight and underweight investment opportunities
• Presenting of investment ideas to equity team
• Undertake any ad hoc requests/ proprietary research projects
• Keep abreast of current developments, market intelligence

Qualifications:

• A postgraduate degree with financial management / investment analysis preferred
• A relevant professional qualification preferred and/or CFA qualification preferable
• Relevant experience in equity research / investment analysis
• Understanding of financial statements and financial analysis
• Spreadsheets at advanced level
