Factory & Operations Manager

Location: Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape
Salary: Market Related

Requirements:
Matric essential, relevant Degree/Diploma would be advantageous.
Experience working in a distribution warehouse.
Valid driver’s license (PDP would be advantageous).
Computer literate in MS Office.
Mechanical and refrigeration experience advantageous.
Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
Experience in managing, leading and motivating staff effectively.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, language skills, time management skills and administrative skills.

Duties:
Manage warehouse in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
Implementing additional operational policies and procedures.
Liaise with telesales, suppliers and transport companies
Maintenance of warehouse infrastructure and equipment.
Managing and ensuring effective and safe use of warehouse equipment.
Manage and resolve stock queries relating to credits from customers.
Overseeing receiving, warehousing and distribution operations.
Identify storage space allocation and ensure goods are stored appropriately.
Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate.
Arrange warehouse and catalogue stock.
Assist and co-manage quarterly stock takes with Procurement Manager.
Keep track of delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
Planning of routes and process the dispatch of vehicles.
Maintain awareness and knowledge of condition, licensing and location of fleet vehicles.
Manage all vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.
Recruit, select, position/place, coach, discipline and motivate employees.
Work with team to plan and assign appropriate tasks.
Planning work schedules, assigning tasks appropriately and appraising results.
Manage and monitor staff performance and progress.
Ensure basic health and safety of warehouse staff.
Overseeing security operations of warehouse and premises.
Plan possible future capacity requirements with Procurement and General Managers.
Reporting to Directors from time to time.
