Education skills requirement:
• Matric.
• Qualified Millwright or Fitter with Electrical, Mechanical & Hydraulic experience (Section 13).

Computer literacy:
• Proficient computer skills advantageous.
• Syspro advantageous.

Key Performance Area / Job Duties:
• Maintain, repair, service and report on all company’s capital equipment both on surface and underground as per your Line Manager’s instructions and requirements.
• Render technical assistance on all equipment as required by your Line Manager.
• All maintenance, service and repairs must be carried out/completed to an agreed company’s specification.
• Complete daily and weekly reports audits for all machines on site and ensure that a quotation on the Customers requirements is drawn up and forward timeously to the Customer. Quotations must be followed up to ensure that a purchase order is placed by the customer.
• Field Service Technicians to update Line Manager on a daily basis on all completed breakdowns and requirements to complete the breakdown; repair or maintenance on site and to inform the Line Manager before leaving the site.
• Immediately report any abuse/negligence by the operators on any of the company’s equipment listing the relevant details to the supervisor and Line Manager in control of the operation and to the site supervisor.
• To at all times carry the correct/relevant equipment/tools to carry out the required site work, service and repairs.
• Report to the client before leaving site by means of a neat, complete and detailed service report. This report is also evidence of work done at site and hours worked. This report must be signed off by a senior supervisor on site on a daily basis and at all times kept current and up to date.
• It is the duty of the company’s Field Service Technician to ensure that he has a security-, medical- and induction clearance prior to visiting a site to carry out any works order/instruction by his Line Manager.
• The Field Service Technician must ensure that he is available on his cell phone 24/7 with a voice mail facility. Problems with the cell phone must be reported immediately to the Line Manager and it is the Field Service Technician’s responsibility to advice the Line Manager with an alternative contact number.
• At all times be medically fit to perform duties.

Required Work Experience:
• Technical background with 3 years experience as a Field Service Technician.
• Experience in underground mining Industry equipment will be advantageous.
