Description:

The Field Service Technician (FST) is a high paced, customer service oriented position. FSTs are on call 24/7 and when activated travel to the customer’s active rig site, whether on land or offshore. Upon arrival, the FST will evaluate the situation and proceed to troubleshoot branded drilling equipment such as top drives, mud pumps, drawworks, pipe handling system, blow out preventers (BOP), roughnecks, and control systems.

All Field Service Technicians will participate in the Technical College program that will include classroom, lab, and hands on training in electrical and hydraulic fundamentals, as well as various product lines.

Responsibilities:

Travel to rig site and install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair drilling equipment such as:

Proprietary automated control systems – Siemens Step 7, Cyberbase, Amphion Electrical Systems (various types of AC/DC motors, motor controllers, VFDs)

Hydraulic/Pneumatic Systems – pumps, motors, rams, etc.

Mechanical Systems – Gearboxes, bearings, fittings

Provide training to other personnel and customers on the proper operation and maintenance of aforementioned systems and equipment as needed

Provide accurate and timely report(s) regarding work progress, output, and implemented repairs

Qualifications:

At least one year's experience with qualified trade (heavy mechanical /heavy electrical line) and/or engineering diploma/degree

Ability to read hydraulic, mechanical and/or electrical schematics and prints

Ability to utilize various pieces of test equipment properly, including, multimeters, meggers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, calipers, basic hand tools, etc.

Have a valid passport and the ability to travel internationally

Availible to respond and accommodate on-call 24/7 and travel on short notice to domestic and international locations for unknown durations

Ability to meet position 75%-85% travel requirement

Willingness to work in harsh environments including rain, snow, heat, and heights in excess of 150 feet (50m)
