Our client based in Germiston Area are currently seeking a Field Installations and Repair Technician - Netstar - Tracker and CTrack inclusive of Dashcam and Camera

The incumbent is required to perform the following tasks and will be evaluated on the following duties
• Handle full field installations functions - fitting Vehicle tracking, Fleet management and Camera systems such as live streaming, advanced driving and driver behaviour with surveillance to cargo goods etc at client sites.
• Install Fuel measuring devices such as fuel probes.
• De and Re – Installations.
• Repairs of equipment installed.
• Ensure that installations are completed according to company, dealer and manufacturers specifications.
• Fitting and harnessing of units.
• Stripping and reassembling of vehicles.
• Ensure that daily, weekly and monthly installation targets are achieved.
• Ensure that health and safety standards are adhered to.
• Ensure that tools, equipment and company vehicle is well taken care of.
• Liaise with clients and scheduling department.
• Scheduling appointments (optional).
• Pre and post checks.
• Testing units after fitment.
• Signing off jobs and issuing certificates.
• Completion and submission of management reports.
• Standby – 7day cycle (normally one to two times a month) and traveling with sleep outs from time to time.
Candidate Requirements (Skills and Experience)
The ideal candidate should have;
• Matric/Grade 12
• A stable work track record of between 5 -10 years exp in vehicle tracking and Fleet Management systems fitments/Industry on both small to big commercial vehicles and trucks.
• Knowledge and fitment experience in Canbus J1708 AND J1939 Standards. (STRICTLY REQUIRED)
• Knowledge and fitment experience of Autowatch, Sanji and Shurlock car alarms, immobilisers, anti-hijack systems. Good understanding and experience in vehicle central locking, circuit identification.
• Strong auto electrical experience.
• Trade test in Motor electrical/electronics’ is preferred.
• Very few returns on fitment faults and repairs
• Clear criminal record (Please note this will be verified).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Good people skills.
• Excellent communication skills and fluent in English and Afrikaans.
• Excellent technical acumen.
• Must be team orientated.
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Must be target driven.
• Must have an eye for detail.
• Must have high integrity and honesty with sober habits.
• Must be able to work independently, self-managed with limited supervision.
• Must be experienced in computer literacy - Excel, MS Word, configuration software, etc
• Resides in close proximity of the HQ – East Rand and or Germiston.
