Financial Accountant - MUST BE Western Cape (Northern Suburbs)
Responsible for the financial reporting function of the Portfolio Management businesses and analysis of the Balance Sheet.
Key responsibilities
• Set up and manage appropriate financial reporting systems and processes.
• Maintain portfolio take-on process and ensure portfolio allocation per business line is correct.
• Perform revenue source analysis including invoicing and fee calculation and align them to portfolios we manage per business line.
• Perform expense analysis and ensuring that the basis of costs allocation is appropriate.
• Ensure appropriate recording of income statement items by working closely with Support Services, Finance and Fund Managers.
• Involvement in the overall budgeting/forecasting processes and the production of variance reports.
• Reporting on the monthly financial performance of the business units.
Balance Sheet Management
• Determine and set up governance scope and responsibility of based on the Estate balance sheet as prepared by Balance Sheet Management function.
• Perform assets analysis on the balance sheet and identify assets.
• Perform analysis of the underlying portfolios for each asset category, identify and rectify gaps as deemed appropriate.
• Determine the basis in which the identified assets are managed, who manages them and on what mandate.
• Monitoring and analysing of assets on the on-going basis and adherence to the mandate thereof.
• Involved in ad-hoc accounting and operational related projects and activities.
• Knowledge of JDE, IDU and HFM will be an added advantage.
Qualification, Experience and Skills
• BCom, CFA, CA with 2 to 3 years related experience
