A securities and investment firm are looking for a strong Financial Accountant for its Finance department in Johannesburg. Your job responsibilities as the Financial Accountant in Johannesburg will include:

- Responsible for month-end close and preparation of monthly management/financial reporting pack with commentaries
- Preparation of monthly group reporting, liaising with group and dealing with queries from group
- Preparation of monthly client/product profitability reports and other KPIs
- Ensuring that adequate accounting and other records and internal controls in the finance areas are maintained
- Daily monitoring and reconciliation of company’s bank currency accounts
- Managing the company’s purchase and expenses processes and making payments runs
- Analysis, reconciliation and substantiation of revenue, costs and balance sheet accounts
- Undertake process improvement and reengineering and systems implementation
- Preparation of timely and accurate year-end financial reports in accordance with statutory requirements and IFRS accounting standards
- Coordinating with the external auditors regarding the books and records

Requirements for this Financial Accountant job in Johannesburg:

- Education to degree level and a qualified ACA/ACCA/ACMA
- 3-5 years’ experience ideally gained from a small to medium size firm and happy to work in a small environment
- Previous auditing and regulatory requirement experience
- Good working knowledge of IFRS
- Competent user of Microsoft Office particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Experience of using Sage is highly desirable
