Financial Accountant

Established FMCG Company based Montague Gardens is looking for a Financial Accountant.

The Financial Accountant reports directly to the Financial Manager.

Requirements:
• Matric
• BCom Accounting with Articles
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Manufacturing/ FMCG industry
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office package, particularly strong Excel skills
• Working knowledge of an accounting system like Sage Evolution/Pastel
• Experience with an ERP/Inventory system advantageous
• Sound understanding of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with implementation of internal controls, policies and procedures

Duties will include:
• Preparing financial statements
• Reconciliation of bank accounts
• Management Accounting
• Ultimate responsibility for the full accounting function
• Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends
• Providing accurate financial reports and interpreting financial information with specific deadlines
• Completion of statutory reports for VAT, income tax and PAYE
• Managing the quarterly forecasting processes
• Fixed asset management and control of working capital
• Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
• Budget Management
• Liaising with auditors
• Ensuring legal regulations are adhered to
• Preparing ad-hoc analyses and reports as required
• Ensuring Stock Control measures are in place and adhered to
• Stock system management
• Variance Analysis
• Suppliers / Supply chain management
