Reporting directly to the Financial Manager

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• BCom Accounting or equivalent (complete or almost complete);
• Minimum 5 years accounting experience, preferably in a consulting engineering industry;
• Cross-Border experience. including use of foreign currencies will be advantageous;
• Ability to travel domestically and in Africa;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Ability to multi-task;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff;
• Advanced MS Excel skills;
• Strong reconciliation skills with the ability to clear down recons;
• Good knowledge of SA VAT system;
• Ability to prepare reconciliations and clear down outstanding matters.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist the Financial Manager with the preparation for external audits and with the preparation of annual financial statements;
• Review and authorize cross-border and local batches;
• Attend to branch accounting queries;
• Prepare/review monthly reconciliations and clear down items timeously;
• Prepare monthly project profitability reports;
• Prepare financial and project reports for management meetings;
• Analyse and interpret project data;
• GL analysis of income/expenditure accounts;
• Process payroll imports and prepare staff debtor report for HR;
• Process and reconcile general ledger, creditors, cash book and payroll for foreign entities;
• Prepare and circulate the weekly cash flow reports;
• Process and reconcile credit card accounts;
• Capture, maintain and process payments for withholding taxes;
• Undertake VAT reviews and correct where necessary;
• Assist the Financial Director and Financial Manager with adhoc tasks.
