Our client, a JSE listed, well established company is looking to employ a Financial Director that will be in a critical role that has the ability to manage complex projects and deliverables, while making sure that resources are carefully managed and risk is mitigated in a timely manner. Guide and shape the growth of a team, refine and develop the finance function with the goal of managing operational and financial risk. Recognize the value in monitoring, tweaking and refining processes and the resources required to support that processes, while recognizing the value of the long term out comes for the company’s growth and future.

Duties will include:

• Corporate governance
• Management of operational and financial risk.
• Able to self-manage and ensure maximum productivity and profitability.
• Effective analysis and accurate reporting.
• Liaise with stakeholders and ensure requirements are understood and met.
• Ongoing liaison with the business to understand their profitability and provide financial insight into the business model and performance against targets.
• Review analysis of income statement and variances between the actual and the budget on a monthly basis.
• Identify key areas for improvement and make recommendations.
• Assist in the structuring of deals.
• Assist Upper Management on high level deals and reporting where required.
• Offer assistance on the structuring of deals.
• Ensure satisfactory internal and external audit ratings and reporting.
• Lead the process to create and update budgets and financial plans.
• Optimize financial processes.
• Accurate forecasting.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Minimum Qualification: CA (SA)
10 years’ experience with at least 5 years in a senior management role
Financial Management in multiple roles
Project Management experience
Financial, accounting and business acumen and excellent business skills
Strategic liaison and influencing skills
Sound knowledge of margin and balance sheet management
Risk management knowledge including FOREX
Knowledge of tax and insurance and company legislation where applicable
IFRS knowledge
Sound presentation and business communication skills
Broad Group exposure (Head Office, Shared services, other senior staff.)
Experience of interfacing with external financial suppliers (Bankers, Auditors, Insurers etc.)
MS Office skills
