Financial Manager (3-month contract) wanted for our client, a large national beverage producer based in Midrand. The position reports to the Corporate Vice-President – Finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1. Accounting, Reporting & Controls:
• Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of financial and operational controls.
• Reviewing accounting of transactions, ensuring controls on policies and procedures are in place.
• Adherence to the timelines of reporting at HO post consolidation of Divisional MIS and also reporting to Holding Company.
• Variance Analysis for HO and Divisions and reporting thereof.
• Budget and forecast preparation for Head Office and consolidation thereof.
• Assist with finance related queries of the divisions.
• Assist with finalization of AFS for the company on an annual basis.
2. Banking & Treasury Function of Head Office.
• Reviewing the Cash Flow on a daily basis and planning for disbursals.
• Authorising the vendor payment advices, before uploading the same onto online banking system for payment.
3. Liaison with the Statutory/Internal Auditors.
4. Ensure all statutory returns (VAT, excise Duty etc) are prepared and submitted on time at predetermined intervals, online.
5. Review returns for Banks, SARS, Stats SA, etc. timeously.
6. Staff management and motivation.
7. Any other related jobs on need basis.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree with Accounting and Auditing as majors.
• Completed Articles training with a Chartered Accounting Firm (not negotiable)
• At least three years’ experience as a Financial Manager, preferably in the Food or FMCG industry.

DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE:
• Strong management reporting background.
• Computer literacy (previous use of MS Office) and Accpac.
• Good analytical skills with a flair for numbers.
• Good accounting/costing knowledge.
• Working knowledge of Income Tax and VAT Acts.
• Ability to work as a team member while leading the Finance Dept.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of Management at Divisional and HO.

REMUNERATION:
• Between R33,500 to R41,500 pm (depending on qualifications and experience).
