Job Summary:
Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all accounting services functions in the Finance Department. Responsible for safeguarding organization assets and record keeping. Responsible for the preparation of reports for Senior Management and the Board of Directors. Ensures that accounting activities are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, legal, regulatory, and organization procedures. Ensures that the Finance Department supports the overall goals of the organization and that finance services are delivered professionally and efficiently

Required Education
• Matric
• CA (compulsory)
• BComm degree
• Proficient computer skills (i.e. Advanced Microsoft Office Suite)
• Syspro

Required Work Experience
• Minimum 10 years experience in managing the financial function for a medium manufacturing facility, preparing weekly, monthly and annual reports for a manufacturing entity.
• Experience in manufacturing financial management would be beneficial.
• Familiar with standard costing systems.
• 2-3 years experience / exposure to Company or Commercial Law.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, advanced Excel skills
• Possess good accounting experience with tax knowledge desirable
• Good understanding of Financial management systems and controls

Job Specification / Key Performance Area
• Collating, preparing and interpreting reports, budgets, accounts, financial statements and providing and interpreting financial information.
• Controlling income, monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends and expenditure.
• Undertaking strategic analysis and assisting with strategic planning.
• Formulating strategic and long-term business plans.
• Undertaking research into pricing, competitors and factors influencing business performance.
• Developing and managing financial systems/models.
• Developing financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk.
• Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
• Liaising with auditors to ensure annual auditing is carried out.
• Producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines.
• Managing budgets and evaluates data pertaining to costs in order to plan budgets.
• Arranging new sources of finance for a company's debt facilities.
• Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
• Prepare financial and regulatory reports required by laws, regulations and boards of directors.
• Communicate with stockholders to provide information and to raise capital.
• Establish procedures for custody and control of assets, records, loan collateral, and securities, in order to ensure safekeeping.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate risk and insurance programs of establishments to control risks and losses.
• Submit delinquent accounts to attorneys or outside agencies for collection.
• Supervising staff; recruit staff members and oversee training programs.
• Liaising with managerial staff and other colleagues.
• Examine, evaluate, and process loan applications.
• Monitor order flow and transactions that brokerage firm executes on the floor of exchange.
