PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide an overall strategic and tactical Financial Management support to the ATS operation. As part of the management team conclude annual budgets for board approval, quarterly board reports, management accounts, market data analysis, overseeing daily finance processes aligned to GAAP and Afrika Tikkun standards and concluding AFS with auditors. This role is accountable in ensuring the financial discipline and processes are aligned to overall Afrika Tikkun Standards, ATS business requirements as directed by the board and GAAP.
A key role will be to work closely with the CEO in designing the strategic direction of the company, manage the operational delivery accordingly and to assess the performance of the company against pre-determined targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management
? Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
? Devise and implement internal controls and systems to ensure all departments and Finance are integrated
? Be an integral part of the executive management team, and contribute in strategic direction of the company.
? Assist the CEO in the day to day operational running of the business
Budgeting
? Manage the preparation of the company's budget with all departments.
? Report on variances from the established budget and the reasons for those variances.
? Assist management in the formulation of its overall strategic direction, including medium term plans (3y budget)
Financial Administration
? Implement and maintain effective financial systems appropriate for a new enterprise
? Manage Finance Department and staff where applicable
? Year end audit - preparation and completion including statutory accounts and AFS.
? Monthly financial reporting to the management team, and board members when required.
? Ensure the maintenance of the General Ledger and capturing all financial transactions timeously into Pastel.
? Ensure all payments to creditors are performed daily through the online banking application.
? Raise all invoices and collect monies due according to contracts in place and adhoc activities.
? VAT calculation and reporting to SARS, and timeous payment of liability.
? Balance sheet, Accounts payable and receivable monthly recons to perform.
? Implement and maintain process around TAX
? Manage all Financial elements of bids, tenders or proposals
Payroll & Human Resources
? Monthly capturing and maintenance of Payroll system, producing the payroll
? Upload salaries for payment via internet banking, and payment of PAYE.
? Monthly statutory return to SARS via e-filing
? Ensure all staff documentation (letters of appointment) is properly completed and filed.
? Maintenance of UIF, SDL, COID and other statutory people processes
General
? Comply with all directives from time to time given to you by the company, and all rules and regulations
? Assist in the compiling of proposals to prospective customers / projects.
Staff
? Develop, train and assist all staff in financial matters pertaining to their operational roles.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
? Matric (Grade 12)
? BCOM (Accounting) or Equivalent
? Minimum of 5 years management experience
? Financial system : Pastel & VIP payroll
