We're seeking Fire Technicians & Fire Assistants - Permanent Positions - Kempton Park To provide any technical or administrative support and execute on any specific Fire Systems project directives within the Fire department.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure neat, correct, and timeous installation of fire systems in in line with business and industry standards and meet accreditation i.e., SANS 1475 and Detection and Gas Suppression standards.
Install and service Fire Equipment (extinguishers, hose reels, etc.) in accordance with SANS 1475, Detection and Gas Suppression standards.
Work within the framework of hours quoted per job whilst maintaining quality standards.
Ensure that any changes required on site to install Fire Detection and Gas Suppression are timeously reported to the salesperson responsible for the quote.
Conduct maintenance on Fire Systems and equipment as required.
Identify all fire systems faults and recommend repairs or service required.
Implement sound project management practices to secure own deliverables, scope, and good time management.
Work effectively and collaboratively with project team and the relevant Project Manager.
Work and adhere to plans which identify the activities needed to successfully install or service, commission and handover sites.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Relevant Diploma in Environmental Safety or a related field is required.
Certification in 1475 Fire Technicians with Level 4 (Commissioner) in Detection and Gas Suppression is required.
Up to date and valid SAQCC 1475 and Detection and Gas Suppression certification is required.
5 Years’ relevant experience within a Fire prevention/services environment is required.
Assistant Technician:
Matric / Grade 12 or NQF level 4
3 Years relevant experience withing a Fire/ prevention / services environment is required.
