BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB PURPOSE:
Increase machine availability for production by maintaining, repairing, and improving machinery and installations in the factories and fabricate parts required, on lathe and milling machine.
•Assemble, install, test, and maintain any mechanical equipment, apparatus or fixture, using hand tools and power tools.
•Plan layout and installation of mechanical equipment and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
•Fabricate parts required on a lathe and milling machine.
•Inspect mechanical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair
•Ensure compliance with codes, OHSACT and All relevant local and international codes and best practices.
•Direct and train workers to install, maintain or repair equipment and fixtures.
•Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
•Be able to fault find, tune and repair industrial sewing machines.
•Be familiar with injection moulding techniques.

Qualifications:
Min N4 qualification
Successful completion of a Fitting and Turning trade test.
This qualification could have been obtained through either a formal apprenticeship or Section 28 of the Manpower Training Act.
Experience:
Must have completed min of 4 years as a trade tested Fitter and Turner.
Strong pneumatic and hydraulic problem solving skills are preferential.
