URGENT: FOOD FUNDI / CHEF / FOOD PRODUCT DEVELOPER

Food Manufacturer based in Woodstock is looking for an eager Food Fundi/Chef to take up the exciting position as Prepared Foods Product Developer/Manager to join their team, being responsible for all aspects of the prepared foods process.

Responsibility:
- Leading the development function to deliver new products. This includes an exciting “grab & go” range for a busy upmarket convenient store
- Translating new concepts into manufactural, sustainable & feasible products
- Ensuring product are presentable and enticing
- Overseeing staff
- Training staff when/where necessary
- Effective bench marking and competitor analysis (pricing, product & quality).
- Monitor product quality and standards
- Recipe development/implementation where necessary
- Oversee hygiene aspects within factory

Requirements
- Good food experience, from preparation through to presentation
- Experience in technical aspects of food preparations
- Have an understanding of costing
- Good communication skills
- Good people and management skills
- Customer focused with a strong understanding of requirements for new products
- Experience with process and handling of fresh produce in a factory to maintain shelf life

Hours: Monday – Saturday (working 45 hours per week). Starting at 7am if necessary
Salary: R10 000 – R15 000 per month.
