Senior Forensics Accountant – Windhoek, Namibia

A leading Audit Firm in Windhoek, Namibia requires the skill of a seasoned forensics and investigations accountant to provide specialist support to management in the prevention and detection of fraud.

You will be expected to work independently or with others in reviewing processes for vulnerabilities, recommending solutions to management and taking part in simple and complex investigations. Most of the investigations are Ad hoc, and will either be in response to fraud being detected, or allegations of fraud / corruption being received through various channels.

You will meet the following minimum requirements
• Degree or Advanced Diploma in Finance / Accounting / Audit Investigations or related
• Additional related qualifications / certifications is preferred (Eg Certified Fraud Examiner, /CIMA / ACCA / SAICA etc)
• Advanced MS Office
• 5+ years’ relevant (post qualification) experience in a similar role (Forensic Accounting / Audit / Investigations) within an audit, consulting or financial services firm
• Demonstrate extensive experience of forensic accounting and investigations in a complex environment. (Essential)
• Professional curiosity. An enquiring, tenacious mind and a desire to get to “the bottom of things”. (Essential)
• Strong logical reasoning, attention to detail and problem-solving skills. (Essential)
• An articulate and confident communicator, both orally and written. (Essential)
• Good understanding of fraud risks and approaches to managing fraud risk in complex environments. (Desirable).
• Skills in spreadsheet & database programs (MS Excel & MS Access, Idea, ACL, SQL, or any similar platforms). (Essential)
• Experience in advanced data/statistical analysis tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Spotfire, Alteryx, Attivio, Palantir, SPSS or R. (Highly Desirable)
• An understanding of current forensic technology (e.g. Relativity; Brainspace; NUIX; etc..). (Desirable)

Location: Successful incumbent will primarily be based in Windhoek, Nambia.
