Forklift Technician position available at FMCG manufacturing plant in Mpumalanga, KZN.

Travel: Call outs
Reporting to: Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities
§ Ensure that Forklift productivity is maximized through the continuous monitoring and trending of improvements and equipment availability (downtime reduction).
§ Implement initiatives across equipment and process in order to maximize reliability as a means of addressing the root cause of equipment problems.
§ Plan and manage all planned maintenance, preventative schedules, work requests and break downs
§ Determine material, equipment and supplies to be used and ensure that these are ordered and available at the work site
§ Safety inspection and reports.
§ Research and development - upgrade equipment for improved performance at reduction of maintenance cost.

Knowledge / Competence
§ A relevant Trade test
§ Minimum 5 years relevant experience (post qualification).
§ Ability to work independently and under pressure.
§ Prepared to work weekends, perform standby duties, call outs and overtime when required.
§ Minimum 2 years experience as a forklift technician / similar.
§ Must have Code 08 license.
§ Must have a clear criminal record
§ Ability to communicate in English.
§ Physically fit and able to work in cold conditions, typically to –40°c for short periods
