FOUNDRY (CASTING/MELTING) SUPERVISORS (X2), BRITS, R20 – 25 000

DEGREE METALLURGICAL / MECHANICAL + 5 YEARS EXP IN FOUNDRY/ MELTING/ CASTING ENVIRONMENT. SHIFT POSITION + EXP IN SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL.

Qualifications and Experience
National Higher Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution.
Not more than 5 years experience after completion of studies.
Due to the increased manufacturing activity two (2) supervisory positions have been created. Each position will initially be allocated to a specific shift, but will alternate with the other shift every 3 weeks.
Job Specification
Melting
Ensure timeous loading of raw materials.
Ensure correct specification and temperature of molten metal.
Ensure proper de-slagging.
Ensure transfer of molten metal and casting complies with specification.
Ensure lowest possible melting loss.
Casting/Moulding
Ensure correct sand specification.
Ensure proper moulding.
Ensure correct casting temperatures.
Ensure best possible cast yield.
Fettling
Ensure feeders and runners are correctly removed.
Ensure products are free from green sand.
Packaging and Logistics
Arrange bulk packaging for transport.
Arrange packaging in accordance with customers’ requirements.
Cost Control
Maintain expenses within budget.
Ensure best possible yield.
Ensure lowest possible scrap rate.
Ensure product cost remains within budget.
Commitment
Must be prepared to work shifts.
Must be prepared to relocate if required
