 Minimum Requirements:

• Matric or equivalent qualification


• Relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics or Transport


• Minimum of 5 years working experience within a similar position in a Management capacity – proven track record


• Excellent knowledge of Air, Road and Sea Freight


• Proven experience in all round operational management including HR, Finance, legislation, etc.


• Display strong business acumen, commercial awareness and entrepreneurial skills


• Proficient in MS Office and understanding of IT


• Able to lead and motivate staff effectively


• Analytical and logical in approach


• Exceptional communication skills and able to negotiate on all  levels


• Exercise sound judgement and decision making skills


• Professional and approachable


• Customer service orientated


• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle

Key Performance Areas:

• Implement growth strategies and make recommendations with regards to opportunities with customers and clients


• Create and drive new services and initiatives within the Freight Environment


• Continuously seek ways to optimise processes and find value add opportunities for the Branch


• Ensure achievement of budgeted and financial performance targets


• Build value added, transparent relationships with all stakeholders to ensure market share growth and retention of business


• Full staff management function (recruitment, development, retention and disciplinary action)


• Ensure all staff and service providers meets operational targets


• Provide regular, accurate and updated reporting to Management and Clients


• Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory requirements within the industry


• Ensure updated knowledge of competitor activity and inform various departments accordingly


• Enforce security policies with regards to cash and asset management


• Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures


• Monitor compliance with Service Level Agreements
