Our client based in Johannesburg is currently looking for a fluent French speaking Business Accountant to join their Finance Team. The client is in the mining industry and is based in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the management of the growing Western African operations in all matters around monthly reporting, financial analysis, local statutory compliance incl. internal and external audit.


  • Maintain a safety culture and conformance to safety guidelines

  • Month-End Close and Reporting

  • Financial Planning

  • Budgeting

  • Audit and Compliance

  • Ultimate accountability for timely collection and compliance to terms of trade – actively seek contact with persistently late-paying customers, identify reasons for non-payment and initiate litigation (via Legal) where necessary

  • Positively promoting the culture of the African Finance Team by providing leadership, setting a positive example, prioritising tasks, promoting teamwork and sharing knowledge

  • Support other Sub-Regional Business Accountants especially during times of prolonged absence


  • Bi-lingual French and English

  • Ability to speak Arabic will be an advantage

  • Degree level education

  • Min. 5 years’ experience in a similar environment

  • Excellent working knowledge of SAP

  • Working knowledge of Hyperion HFM

  • Sound understanding of core financial concepts such as IFRS, investment appraisal, tax law)

  • Personal and professional integrity

  • Strongly developed ability to influence others

  • Highly motivated self-starter

  • Team player

  • Applies highest level of diligence to all work-related matters
