This candidate should be dinamic, well groomed, outgoing, hands-on, independant and have an eye for detail. Any culinary experience would be a bonus. Interaction with guests is high priority and adding personal touches is how we like to spoil our guests. As we are a boutique lodge, we only sleep 8-10 guests maximum but the attention to the guests whims are of high importance. As with the industry the hours are long and the cycle is 6 weeks with 2 weeks leave. All meals are provided for as well as good accommodation. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the lodge including the management of the housekeeping and kitchen staff. The administration does not involve reservations, it is only guest related admin including orders, stock control, liaising with service providers, check-in and check out of guests etc. You and the current FOH will work together as a team. We are relatively remote which means that this candidate should be content to function "alone". Previous four or five star hotel/lodge experience is essential. The position is demanding but very gratifying. A strong candidate with a servant's heart will be the perfect fit for Shumbalala.
