A Payment IT Systems company in Randburg is looking for a General manager to start immediately. Knowledge in the following areas is required: Human services, finance and personnel; oral and written communications; planning and evaluation; and governance. • Some experience in the field of IT, IT Systems, Insurance and Prepaid telecommunication , not-for-profit management and governance, and community relations is preferred. Some general knowledge of fund development is also preferred and relevant qualifications.

Responsibilities: To lead, in conjunction with the Board, the development of the
Company’s strategy;

To lead and oversee the implementation of the Company’s long and
short term plans in accordance with its strategy;

To ensure the Company is appropriately organized and staffed and to
have the authority to hire and terminate staff as necessary to enable it
to achieve the approved strategy;

To ensure that expenditures of the Company are within the authorized
annual budget of the Company;

To assess the principal risks of the Company and to ensure that these
risks are being monitored and managed;

To ensure effective internal controls and management information
systems are in place;
to ensure that the Company has appropriate systems to enable it to
conduct its activities both lawfully and ethically;

To ensure that the Company maintains high standards of corporate
citizenship and social responsibility wherever it does business;

to act as a liaison between management and the Board;

To communicate effectively with shareholders, employees, Government
authorities, other stakeholders and the public;
To abide by specific internally established control systems and
authorities, to lead by personal example and encourage all employees
to conduct their activities in accordance with all applicable laws and the
Company’s standards and policies;

Management and administration Assures a work environment that recruits, retains and supports quality staff and volunteers. Assures process for selecting, development, motivating, and evaluating staff and volunteers. Recommends staffing and financing to the Board of Directors. Specifies accountabilities for management personnel and evaluates performance regularly.
Governance: Helps the Board articulate its own role and accountabilities and that of its committees and individual members, and helps evaluate performance regularly.
Financing: Guides and enable the Board, its fund development committee(s) and its individual Board members to participate actively in the fund development process.
