My client, a high-tech, information technology organisation with Information Capital at the heart of the organisation’s decision making and a strong heritage in information management services has an opportunity for an energetic, eager to learn and enthusiastic junior/graduate database developer with strong SQL skills
The primary focus of the role would be to assist with developing queries, reports and databases to support the business with its day to day operations.
Experience of Microsoft SQL server is mandatory.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
• skills in database design
• writing and optimization of SQL queries
• knowledge of stored procedures etc.

• Responsibilities
• Help write and optimize in-application SQL statements
• Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases
• Prepare documentations and specifications
• Handle common database procedures such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
• Profile server resource usage, and optimize and tweak as necessary
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

Skills and Qualifications
• Maximum 2 years SQL Experience as graduate or in employment.
• Proficiency with SQL and its variation among popular databases
• Exposure to some of the modern relational databases
• Capable at optimizing large complicated SQL statements
• Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases
• Capable of configuring popular database engines and orchestrating clusters as necessary
• Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications
• Capable of troubleshooting common database issues
