Group Accountant – Simons Town, Cape Town

Our Manufacturing Client in Simons Town is looking for an Experienced Group Accountant. This person needs to have 3-5 years experienced as a Group Accountant or a Senior Accountant.

Min Requirements
• Minimum B Com Accounting degree – Similar
• 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar role, articles advantageous. With specific experience required:
o foreign exchange
o manufacturing stock control
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power-Point)
• Sage Evolution experience advantageous

Job Requirements

• Full Group Accountant Function and Overseeing the Finance and Admin Department
• Cash flow analysis and cash management
• Product Costing
• Various intercompany transactions and consolidation entries are required
• Responsible for accurate and complete general ledger accounting and review of all balance sheet reconciliations
• Management of finance department (two bookkeepers) and reporting to the financial manager
• Meticulous, detailed, well-organized and able to work independently and under pressure with high level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Daily & monthly cash flow management;
• Banking & Forex monitoring
• Debtors management (our terms are between 120 and 180 days)
• Review of all processing and reconciliations done by the bookkeepers
• Journal entries
• Preparation of sales reports, management accounts and detailed analysis of production figures, budget variances etc
• Liaison with auditors / bankers / insurers / suppliers
• Statutory returns and assistance with tax computations
