JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: Develop, implement, and manage company Safety, Health, Risk, Quality and Environmental (SHERQ) program. Ensures compliance with statutory laws and regulations, health care and quality accreditation standards, and organizational policies. Manages Operating Group’s Workplace Safety Program by facilitating all activities that eliminate occupational injuries and aligning all interests that are critical to realizing a successful Workplace Safety strategy. Help instil SHERQ as a business value in organization.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
• Provide effective report Management function
• Performs Legislation Compliance Management
• Accident/Incident Investigation Management
• Implementation and adherence of approved quality standards
• Chair the respective organization SHE, Risk, and Quality Forums
• Lead the day-to-day SHERQ Management processes across organization
• Represent organization on all organization SHERQ related activities.
• Review and interpret government codes, and develop programmes to ensure adherence to codes and facility safety.
• Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, union contracts, and government regulations
• Compile monthly, quarterly and annually health, safety, environment, risk and quality reports
• Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings, and meeting with individual staff members
• Implement and coordinate safety programmes, including the design and maintenance of protective and rescue equipment and safety devices
• Provide and maintain a safe work environment by participating in safety programs, committees, and/or teams.
• Provide expertise in the design, management and evaluation of study protocols and health status questionnaires, sample selection and analysis
• Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• A tertiary qualification in Safety, Health, Environment, Risk and Quality Management or an equivalent qualification.
• Preferred other relevant qualifications : SAMTRAC, HIRA, Accredited Auditor

EXPERIENCE:
• A minimum of 10 year’s related work experience within a large, diverse construction organisation
