Urgently seeking a Head of Finance for one of the Largest Global Marketing Companies at their Cape Town branch. Supporting the CFO in the financial management of a country. Manage the activities of the finance team. Provide accurate reporting & analysis to the local country/region Board, Support the countries business managers in understanding the financial position of the business.
Description

Role Deliverables:

Monitor and lead the monthly close responsibilities of local finance department (including recruitment, training, counseling, providing performance feedback and developing finance staff)•Assist in financial and management accounting reporting to Board•Analyze monthly, quarterly and yearlyreports for regional CFO, provide information and explanations of financial performance•Ensure there is an accurate picture of the financial position of the country•In conjunction with the CFO, determine reporting needs and design and implement internal financial and management information systems to enable decisions to be made by the CFO, CEO and Board members•Lead the financial education process on managing profitability, train both finance and non-finance personnel in various aspects of financial awareness•Produce ad hoc projects and reports as needed•Support the local country budgeting and forecasting process•Design, implement and test policies and procedures to manage Sarbanes Oxley compliance•Provide analysis on actual vs. budgeted performance in revenue, GM, profit, recoveries and sales•Provide analysis on historical trends in profitable jobs and clients•Provide analysis on ad hoc financial issues as they arise•Assist the region on ad hoc financial projects•Review all legal and contractual agreements for the company and liaise with external legal counsel as appropriate•May manage real estate transactions •Execute and implement company policies and objectives•Cartesis Reporting•Payroll•Procurement (Client and Supplier)

Requirements

Knowledge and Skill required:

Completed tertiary education –CA (SA) •At least 5 years post articles experience in a FM role (preferably within the services industry)•5-10 years financial and management experience with the day-to-day financial operations of an organization of at least 200 staff members•At least 3 years experience of managing an accounts department•Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with people at all levels•Highly numerate•Proven decision making ability and leadership and problem solving skillsBehavioral dimensions:•Initiative, proactive self starter•Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing•Ability to work in an environment where numerous projects are running at one time, ensuring that systems cater for the different demands of these projects•Deadline orientated and ability to work well under pressure•Willingness to accept ultimate responsibility and accountability for work•Accuracy and quality obsession•Willing to get involved in and to provide financial / operational and management expertise in all areas of the business
